Day 1-2: Arrival & Journey to Chilaw

Your journey begins with a warm welcome at the airport, followed by a scenic drive to Chilaw. Here, we will visit the Manavari Temple, the first Shiva Lingam consecrated by Lord Rama, and the Munneswaram Kovil, where Lord Rama sought forgiveness after defeating King Ravana. You will stay overnight at a beachfront resort, allowing you to unwind in paradise.

Day 3: Chilaw – Trincomalee

On day three, we head to Trincomalee. Our first stop will be the Koneswaram Temple, perched on a cliff and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later, we will relax at the Kanniya Hot Springs, believed to be created by King Ravana. Enjoy an overnight stay at a beachfront resort, where you can soak in the beauty of the coast.

Day 4: Trincomalee – Sigiriya – Dambulla

The next day, we travel to Sigiriya, home to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress—a UNESCO World Heritage site that may have been King Ravana's palace. After exploring the fortress, we will visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a revered Buddhist site with over 150 Buddha statues. Spend the night at a luxury eco-resort, where you can rejuvenate for the days ahead.

Day 5: Dambulla – Kandy

Our journey continues to Kandy, where we will visit the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, marking Hanuman's first steps in Lanka. You will also see the breathtaking Ramboda Falls and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of Sri Lanka's most sacred sites. Enjoy a luxurious overnight stay in a city hotel.

Day 6: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Leaving Kandy, we will visit Seetha Kotuwa, believed to be one of King Ravana's palaces, followed by the Sita Amman Kovil, where Princess Sita was held captive. The Divurumpola Temple, where Sita underwent the Agni Pariksha, is another significant stop. Overnight, relax in a charming colonial-style bungalow in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya – Ella

On our way to Ella, we will explore the Ravana Cave and Ravana Falls, both integral to the Ramayana narrative. We will also visit the Ravana Temple, dedicated to King Ravana, before settling in for the night at a scenic hillside resort.

Day 8: Ella – Kataragama

Our next destination is Kataragama, where the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Dewalaya temple awaits—dedicated to Lord Karthikeya. For those interested in wildlife, an optional visit to Yala National Park offers a chance to see Sri Lanka's diverse flora and fauna. Spend the night in a comfortable lodge or luxury hotel.

Day 9: Kataragama – Galle

The journey continues to Galle, where we will visit Ussangoda National Park, a site believed to be scorched by Hanuman's burning tail. We will also explore Rumassala Hill, where Hanuman dropped part of the Sanjeevani mountain. Enjoy a luxurious overnight stay at a beach resort.

Day 10: Galle – Colombo

As we travel to Colombo, we will visit the Pammankada Anjaneyar Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, and the Kelaniya Temple, where Vibhishana was crowned King of Lanka. Enjoy a city tour, shopping, and an overnight stay in a 5-star city hotel.

Day 11: Colombo – Avissawella

On the penultimate day, we will revisit the Pammankada Anjaneyar Temple and explore the Seethawaka Botanical Garden, believed to be part of Ashok Vatika. A visit to the Kelani River, said to be crossed by Hanuman, rounds off this day of spiritual exploration. Stay overnight in a luxurious hotel.

 

Day 12: Leisure & Departure Preparation

Your last day in Sri Lanka is reserved for leisure. You can indulge in optional spa treatments or explore the vibrant shopping scene in Colombo. We will transfer you to the airport, leaving you with cherished memories of the Ramayana Trail.
